WHAT HAS BEEN SENT?

DAY 354

Luke 1:26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,

Somehow, I stopped on verse 26 of the Gospel and the words ‘the angel Gabriel was sent from God’. In other words, the meeting with Mary was not coincidental, the angel had been sent on a mission. The same is true for men and situations: these are all sent on our journey through life from many sources.

Whether from God then, or an enemy, yours is to be placed to tell the difference. Isaiah 54:17a sheds light on the latter dimension ‘No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.

So weapons are formed, fashioned and sent our way. They are so designed to have the best chance of inflicting maximum damage and so you can be certain that some intelligence goes into them. Don’t you for a moment therefore think that your life is only a plethora of circumstances and happenstances.

Many things you have encountered, were sent your way: situations and men designed to bring you glad tidings, firm up your conviction, give you courage and guidance, or challenge you to rise to another level  Likewise, they could be fashioned to deflate and discourage you, build fear,  derail any progress, exploit weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

Your task is to discern what has been sent. That way, you can confidently receive those God sends and resist those not of God.
