HONOUR ALL MEN

DAY 350

Matthew 17:12 But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they pleased.

There is one thing you can be certain about men: we are more likely to honour the great than the small. This is even dependent on knowledge: the great we know are likely to be honoured than those we don’t. Thus, whoever you fail to recognise, you are unlikely to deem honourable and may treat them as you please, not as they deserve.

We tend to treat people on the basis of current status, rarely do we treat men according to potential because potential isn’t readily visible, it has to be recognised. You have already seen the highest light of the great, but about those you classify as ‘small’, you have no idea how high their sun will rise and how bright their rising will be.

Learn to discern the rising of the small, and play your part in that rising as best you can. You cannot expect a seat at the celebratory table when you play no part in the rising of men to those seats of honour. Therefore, even as you honour the great, do not despise the small.
