DAY 348
Isaiah 41:19,20 I will fill the desert with all kinds of trees—cedars, acacias, and myrtles; olive and cypress trees; fir trees and pines. That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
In Isaiah’s text today, we read about a range of trees: cedar, myrtle, acacia, pine, cypress, and olive. These trees require a certain kind of habitat to flourish and surely, the wilderness isn’t such a place for them. The conditions there are too harsh foenth cedar to maintain its lush greenery all year round.
Yet, that is what God wants to do: to plant them in the wilderness as though they were in their natural habitat. That is His way of saying ‘it is not simple the ground that sustains them, it takes more than the soil. To successfully grow Cedar and olives in the wilderness is what you would call ‘making a statement’, and that is exactly what God does.
Abraham and Sarah receiving Isaac in their old age, and the same Isaac being asked to sow in drought and receiving a bountiful harvest. Those are not just miracles, those are STATEMENTS to say ‘you can also try’. There are things in our lives that will reveal the hand of God because no other attribution can be made.
In this season, I pray God makes a statement in your life in Jesus’ name.
