HIS PRESENCE

DAY 343

Isaiah 30:20 Although the Lord has given you bread of deprivation and water of oppression, He, your Teacher, will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will see your Teacher.

The bread of adversity and the water of affliction are not meals anyone would readily order, at least not if they had a choice. However, our journey through life is such that there are moments when God, the teacher, brings both our way to test our resolve, our capacity for more and our commitment to standing with, and for him.

Of interest, when given the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, it became imperative that eyes were opened to see the presence of the teacher. David presented this in another way when he wrote in Psalm 23:4 ‘Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear, for thou art with me.’

Beloved, there is an assurance that comes with knowing you have God with you even in the deepest pits of life. When the buffeting waves of life come rushing in and punches swing left and right, your confidence in knowing that you will safely arrive lies in your awareness of His presence all the way.
