Day 330

Ezekiel 32:12 Just as a shepherd looks after his flock when he finds himself among his scattered sheep, so I will look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered when it was cloudy and dark.
We read about God seeking out his flock. While this is what he does as father and a good shepherd, it is worth looking at the circumstances behind the scattering. In this text from the Prophet Ezekiel, scattering occured on a day when it was cloudy and dark.
‘Darkness is the absence of light, and clouds suggests a partial covering of a light source. Whenever either of the two conditions exist, (darkness or clouds), visibility suffers, and so does navigation and direction. This cuts across every facet of life: natural and spiritual.
The solution to both cloud and darkness is the same: ‘light’. Hence, the Psalmist writes in Psalm 119:130 ‘The entrance [unfolding] of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple. Whatever areas of anything you have ‘no light’ [knowledge, information, understanding] in, you are handicapped.
You are therefore more likely to make costly mistakes or miss out on brilliant opportunities. With all your getting, get light, for that is what dispels darkness.
