DAY 328

Luke 19:46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
When we see any building, we know for a fact that the building did not just appear. Different parts were carefully put together in a particular order to achieve the edifice we see. This is the same analogy to bear in mind as we think about today’s Gospel. Jesus spoke thus’, it is written, my hose shall be a hose of prayer, but you have made it a den of robbers’
Therefore, the house did not ‘become’ a den of robbers, it was made one. In other words, it took thought and action for this transformation to occur. Beloved, we first have to discern what ‘our house’ was made for, and from there, get to work on making it exactly so.
So what are you making with the building materials you have been given? Your words, your time, your relationships? Your gifts? Are you working towards a house of prayer house: a vessel of honour unto God or ‘a den of robbers’, a person from whom neither God nor his people benefit, but rather lose to.
