GREATER THAN THE GREATEST

No matter the undefeated streak an athlete may have, or the number of victories they may have under their belt, as they progress on their journey, many arrive at a point where they think ‘it’s only a matter of time until I meet someone stronger’. That mindset can unlock the gates of a permanent battle against fear.

The lyrics of the song ‘Jesus at the centre’ comes to mind:

You are bigger
Bigger than the biggest
You are stronger
Stronger than the strongest
You are higher
Higher than the highest
You are greater
Greater than the greatest

Thus, Jesus was introducing himself as always above whatever we could think about as beyond us. He was providing a permanent antidote to any fear we may develop on our forward advance regarding defeat.

Jesus has indeed overcome the world, and has been given a name that is above every other name, at the mention of which every knee must bow. Our assurance is in this victory and we have no reason to be afraid.
