THERE ARE NO SURPRISES

Zechariah 8:6 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “It may seem marvelous to the remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvelous to me?” declares the Lord Almighty."

Reading the book of the prophet Zechariah triggered a bit of a Laugh. Whenever we receive breakthroughs and answers to prayers that seemed impossible to perceive, we behave like the people of Israel who were described in Psalm 126:1 “When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream”.

Interestingly, when we are so puzzled and marvel in awe at the breakthrough, it appears we expect God to also be surprised. So in the prophet Zechariah, He clarifies the point “It may seem marvelous to the remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvelous to me?” declares the Lord Almighty” (8:6).

Surprise is seen on the face of a person ignorant about a matter: the omniscient God dose not fit that bill. In truth, you really are the only one who is surprised, God is not. There are no surprises with Him, and neither are there coincidences. Nothing about you comes as a surprise, but you can still touch His heart.
