DAY 274

Reference text: Matthew 21:28-32
As we read this short but interesting text from the Gospel of Matthew, let’s ponder on these snippets from some of its verse:
LESSON 1
The father had two sons and he did not try to convince the first son to accept his offer. Let’s not convince ourselves into thinking that we are all God has, and that without us, His agenda will not be advanced.
God respects the ‘gift of choice’, but don’t be deceived, “you are one of many, not one and only.”
LESSON 2
Both sons heard the same words “son, go and work in the vineyard today”. In response, one said No and the other, Yes. The Holy Spirit is a very personal Spirit, He adapts the word on a case by case bases.
Just because all hear the same words does not mean the words have the same effect.
LESSON 3
‘Go and work in the vineyard TODAY. Yes, today was the time period designated for the task assigned.
Everything does not carry the same impact at every time. Seasons are time bound
LESSON 4
The second son calling his father ‘Sir’ and saying ‘Yes’ to the task presented, were not acceptable substitutes for actually completing the task assigned.
Fine words are not a substitute for fine deeds.
