DAY 272

John 1:48 Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
In today’s Gospel, Nathaniel hears a very interesting statement ‘I saw you’.
Thus, oblivious of the fact that Jesus was watching him, he had gone about doing whatever he was doing. However, those things won him applause with Jesus. So we might ask: ‘ what was he doing? What did he say? What sequence of activities triggered the conclusions Jesus drew about Him.
Many people are their original self when no one is watching or in other words, when they are unaware that they are being watched. However, one thing is certain “Whether we are conscious of this or not, there is always an audience for everything we do. Men are watching, and so is God’.
God watches for the purpose of His Kingdom and associated assignments. Beyond looking to see diligence, and hardwork, He looks at the heart of men for that steers the focus of their pursuit. Men on the other hand watch for different purposes: learning, entertainment, even some just for the thrill.
Regardless, there is always an audience. Let us be mindful then of what we say and do, even when it seems ‘No one is looking’, because someone is.
