DAY 269

Luke 8:19 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they couldn’t get to him because of the crowd.
There will always be things that stand between where we are and where we desire to get to. In today’s Gospel, the crowd was the obstacle to reaching Jesus. Such obstacles are present all through the race course of life.
- If you are Joseph, between the dream and the power you see, there is the prison.
- If you are Joshua, to take over Jericho, there are walls to break
- If you are Israel, to take possession of the promised land, you must engage it’s giants,
- If you are Jesus, between the incarnation and the coronation as Lord, there is the cross.
Even if none of these apply, between where you are and where you desire to be, there is ‘time’, that unbending prover.
How you overcome hindrances will differ depending on the body of knowledge you possess. The nation of Israel, Elijah, Elisha and Jesus all crossed bodies of water. How they each did was different. While some walked through on dry Land, Jesus walked on the water. Nothing even prevents a swim across either
Challenges and obstacles are thus able to serve as “proving grounds” to ascertain what you are made of. You have to stay flexible because you will need help from the Holy Spirit to successfully deal with all the things that will stand in your way; whether it is the powers, the crowd or systems.
Where you have to get to won’t change, how you get there is what will be written in your life’s story.
