GOD IS NOT A MAN

Isaiah 55:8,9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Even though we are drawn into intimacy with God, as a new bride to her husband, every now and again, we seem to get too familiar.  We lose cognisance of the fact that ‘God is not a man’; We forget His majesty, His Sovereignty and that all power belongs to Him.

Today therefore, He reminds us in these words:” I know I have invited you to fellowship with me, but don’t do so on your terms. What you think you know, and what you think you see, are very far from what actually is.

We get another rendition in these verses of the letters of Paul “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, nor has any heart conceived what the Lord has prepared for them that love Him(1 Cor 2:9) and “To him who is able to do “exceedingly abundantly, above all we can ask or think according to the power at work in us”(Eph 3:20)

Therefore, whatever things you have thought about, whatever it is you believe you are to attain, or whatever methods you have engineered to get yourself there, they pale in comparison to the master template God has in view. So don’t get ahead of yourself and by doing so, jump ahead of God. He is a master at what He does. Just walk with Him.
