DON’T DANCE TO EVERY TUNE

DAY 263

Luke 7:32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other: “’We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not cry.’

The creation of man includes a wiring that even the creator does not override, that is free will. With this will comes one of the greatest assets of man ‘the power of choice’.

As simple as this sounds, this is what it means ‘the ability to choose reactions, responses, emotions, thoughts and words rest with you’. That is not only a responsibility, it is also a privilege. The generation in question were described as one that were not dancing to the tunes being played for Them. They neither danced to the flute or mourned to the dirge. That was an exercise of the power of choice.

There are many who are capable and willing to push specific buttons with the intention of eliciting a specific response out of you. Anger to the point of violence with words or actions, dislike to the point of spite or disgust. Their intention is to offset your balance and drag you out of a stable place.

The reason you cannot dance to every tune is because not every song is meant for you. There ought to be specific melodies that drive you into action. In truth, a person who dances to every tune they hear will be constantly distracted on any pursuit in life.
