WE BEHOLD UNTIL WE ARE FORMED

DAY 258

Luke 6:40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.

You are some times able to tell which manager trained an athlete or a team on the basis of specific signature traits that characterise them. This is because every teacher role is to impart to those sitting under their feet, the philosophies that have learnt and appreciate as the recipe for success.

Thus, according to the words of Jesus, a fully trained student should bear an uncanny resemblance to their teacher. Paul caught this revelation when in 2 Corinthians 3:18 he wrote to the church “And we all, with unveiled face, continually seeing as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are progressively being transformed into His image from [one degree of] glory to [even more] glory, which comes from the Lord, [who is] the Spirit.”

Thus, we ought to become more like whatever we are beholding. This sadly is a cause for concern in our generation as many claim to be beholding Jesus, but carry little resemblance to His nature. His ways and teachings are not identifiable in their walk.

If we truly behold Jesus, we will continually be transformed to become more and more like Him because we behold until we are formed.
