DAY 244

Whenever we hear the words ‘a window is open’, beyond a literal meaning, it is often indicative of a unique chance that has arisen and brings with it a platform to achieve a significant feat. However, as easy as it is to open a window, it is also that easy to shut.
The story of the ten virgins in the Gospel is littered with many lessons, but the one that stands out today is from this verse in Matthew 25:10:
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut."
The entire reason for their journey was ‘to meet the bridegroom’; five virgins missed this because when it was time to go in, ‘they were not ready’.
To be ready is to have in place the things you need to execute a required task when a window opens.
For the virgins, the ability to keep their lamps burning was a requirement to enter with the bridegroom, that required extra oil. In practical terms, for a particular investment, you will need to have saved the required seed fund. For a kind of job, specific experience or learning is required and for supernatural encounters, enlarging your capacity on the altar of prayer and Word study is necessary.
“Are you ready?” should not be seen as a generalised question, it is always “context and window specific”. In a boxing arena, that question means very different things to the audience and the boxers in the ring. You therefore have to be crystal clear about what the end goal of your pursuit is. It is only then can you be uniquely ready when a window opens.
