AN UNPREPARED VESSEL

I came across this statement recently:

never give power to the greedy,
or wealth to the ignorant or
hand over a knife to the crazy’

Words such as these tend, to offer an opportunity to be looked at through the lens of scripture and with these, Psalms 145:15 came to mind:

All eyes look to you, and you give them their food in due season'.

The reason for such accurate timing is obvious – outside of due season, whatever is given will be unexpected hence, it could very easily be unappreciated or wasted, and so unlikely to serve it’s intended purpose.

There are many things that are not intended to reach the hands of an unprepared vessel. That is because there is a specific body of knowledge, skillsets, and relationships that will be required to manage and sustain those things. In the absence of these, what one actually wields is a fast track tool towards destruction.

In the wrong or unprepared hand, even the most useful of tools is a hazard, it will ruin them, and ruin others.
