START MAKING PROGRESS

DAY 212

At the start of the year, many of us wrote resolutions we hoped to achieve. We are at the halfway point of the year so it’s time to render some accounts. Just out of interest, how far along are you with those resolutions? Have you taken any steps at all towards them? Or have those resolutions become another list of empty words written down with no real intent to do anything about them?

If there is one message that has shaped my year thus far, it has been the words ‘make meaningful progress’. This cuts across every sphere: Spiritually, physically, academically, and socially. I have made many decisions and taken big steps. These steps have borne fruits, because God honoured them.

Regardless, there are still resolutions I am yet to consistently work on, and I am fairly certain the same is true for some resolutions on your list. Perhaps, you have just not come round to paying attention to those ones. At the half way point of the year therefore, we are gently reminded that we have to begin. If you forget to, or don’t routinely set targets, it isn’t too late to decide on something you want to work towards on this second half.

The future you desire will not be a gift. It is a portrait of your decisions and actions. So start making meaningful progress. To stand a chance of finishing anything, you first have to start.
