THORNS ALL AROUND

DAY 210

Matthew 13:22 The seed sown among the thorns is the one who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

The soul (intellect, emotion, will) is one dimension in man where the word of God has the capacity to make the most impact. So when Joshua wrote saint Paul wrote to the Romans in this manner ‘be transformed by the renewal of your mind’. The enemy therefore uses ploys that aim to stop this from happening.

The assignment of ‘the cares of this world and the deceit of riches’ as Jesus mentions, are to hinder the process of transformation. These fall under the fictitious umbrella: ‘pursue me and you will find’. Men, therefore, begin a mundane pursuit in acquiring things, instead of becoming. They only realise too late that they have been entrapped when they are choked off entirely. 

The enemy has no problem leaving you in the vicinity of the word, as long as there is another situation that competes with, and successfully chokes off the full application of the word.

Don’t be mistaken for a moment that you will have a free reign to simply bear fruit and flourish. You will be surrounded by many thorns, in the form of things, men, and systems, all aiming to strangle whatever word seeking to engender transformation. Watch out for, and raise standards against these thorns, else you will lose a lot.
