DAY 174

Should the things Paul boasts about today become characteristic of any relationship, the wise thing to do will be to run the other way and not look back. Think about this list:
Five times my own people gave me 39 lashes with a whip. Three times the Romans beat me with a big stick, and once my enemies stoned me. I have been shipwrecked three times, and I even had to spend a night and a day in the sea. During my many travels, I have been in danger from rivers, robbers, my own people, and foreigners. My life has been in danger in cities, in deserts, at sea, and with people who only pretended to be the Lord's followers (2 Cor 11:24-26).
Yet never once did he stop running the race. In fact, he finished his race. We find ourselves in a generation where the smallest of setbacks is magnified into the grande excuses we need to give up. Someone said A about me, I quit! I don’t like B, I quit! Things are difficult, I give up! What minimal capacity we have built in enduring.
Paul says to run so you may obtain the prize, but of note is that the prize is available only for those who finish the race well. Whenever you throw in the towel, you eliminate every single possibility of completing the race because it takes staying in the race for any system of advantage to become buffers for your journey. Bear in mind:
‘in any race, Champions win because they race well and they never quit. As for quitters, they have no chance of ever winning.
