DAY 170
2 Corinthians 6:10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
There are times when you could have something in hand but go round looking the very same thing oblivious that you are already in possession of it. In the many paradoxes Saint Paul describes today, one of them was ‘having nothing yet possessing all things’.
We could therefore say that: ‘A poor man is not the one who has nothing, it is the one who does not know what he has’. At the red sea when Moses asked God to come to their aid, God asked him ‘What do you have in your hand?'(Ex 4:2). Moses had a rod that could initiate the parting of the red sea in his hand, yet stood around helpless as the Egyptians drew near.
It is very easy to walk through life and never fully realise what we carry or what we have. We have Jesus, and in, His name, we have access to all things, for in Him; all the promises of God are yes and Amen. The Holy Spirit, in us, is the guarantee of our inheritance.
Beloved, we are in possession of a lot more than we know. The harsh truth however is that experiencing the manifestation of what you have is knowledge dependent. It is only when you know what you possess and have access to, that you can begin to live it out experientially. Otherwise, mediocrity will become the new normal.
