I AM HAPPY TO BE ME

DAY 169

There are days you hear some very harsh truths in church that chastise you, and other days, encouragement that refreshes you for further advance. Today, I heard the later and it was a profession we were led to make,

‘I am happy to be me’

A story was told of a Rabbi who prayed thus ‘God, make me like Moses’, to which God responded ‘I have already had one Moses. Who I could really use is you.’ By all means, there is room for improvement. Times when you’d wish you could do things as well as another. That should serve as inspiration to become better, not to become another because talents can be sharpened, choices can be improved, and mindsets that can still be transformed.

I am truly happy I am me: that I have what I have the relationships I do, the knowledge and lessons I have harnessed through life, my specific experiences, talents and skillsets. God will work on, and with you as He uses you, but you can be assured that ‘God is happy you are you’.

Beloved, there are some things only you can say, some people only you can get to, and some contributions in this world only you can make. So instead of striving to become like another, become an improved version of you and be happy you are you.
