DAY 164

Reference text: Matthew 5:13-16
When you enter any room and turn on a light switch, as though by default, you tend to look up because that is where you expect light to come from; just like the sun. On another note, when you are seasoning food with salt, you expect the crystals to fall to the bottom, for it is from there that they dissolve and spread through the pot.
This is the message I received reading today’s text again ‘
In the places of influence, Light has maximum impact in the highest position, while salt has its maximum impact on the lowest position.’

By highest, this does not relate to superiority and exertion of ego, it is a to rise to a place of influence, mastery, and visibility. So the sight of you brings glory to God. By the lowest position, it isn’t a sinking into mediocrity and inferiority, it is rather in a position of service and permeating of systems. Integrating yourself and impacting from within this.
‘Light impacts from the outside-in, while salt impacts from inside-out’.
Thus, for maximum impact, it is important to discern which of the two we ought to be in specific situations because we are not light or salt, we are both ‘SALT AND LIGHT’.
