DAY 150

Mark 10:28 Peter began to say to Him, “Look, we have left everything and followed You.”
Dont be surprised at all when one day, all of a sudden you wake up and begin to take stock of the things in your life purely from an investment point of view. There are times when you have to balance the financial sheets to ensure you not running at a loss. This encompasses all facets of life: relationship, material, knowledge, social among others.
You have to account for the things and the people you have in your life to ascertain what contribution has been, is being, and could be added to your life on that account. Peter today is quick to ask Jesus to open the accounting books because he wanted clarification that he wasn’t going to be in the business of running at a loss when it’s all said and done.
Peter’s question is not one for which we will categorise him as ‘thinking like the world’. In fact, his question was one of the few Jesus answered in plain sentences without using parables. He responded ‘there is certainly value in following me: you will be rewarded in this life and the next’
Value therefore, has to be discerned, and about this, one must be intentional. Otherwise, you are likely to be on the losing end in many things. Don’t be afraid to open the accounting books sometimes.
