DAY 101

John 20:16 Mary!” Jesus said. She turned to him and cried out, “Rabboni!” (which is Hebrew for “Teacher”).
It isn’t that Mary did not hear the words the ‘supposed gardener’ spoke at first. “In the very least, he asked her two complete questions: woman, why are you weeping? and Whom are you seeking? It is therefore intriguing to ponder on why Mary did not recognise Jesus when He spoke many words, yet immediately registered it was Him when He mentioned her name?
God is never general when He speaks, He is very bespoke. So while one will hear a whisper and know, that is God, for the other person, it will be a sign, a verse of scripture or the lyrics of a song. Be it an audible voice, the fire, the storm, an earthquake of like the wound of many waters, God has multiple avenues through which He can communicate with men.
It isn’t then that God does not speak, it is a matter of when He does speak, do we recognise it’s His voice? He does His very best to stay with a system of recognition that works for each one of us because the relationship he wants with us is personalised.
So,there is nothing wrong with the voice of God, it is our hearing that requires sharpening.
