DAY 100

Matthew 28:12-13 And when they [the chief priests] had gathered with the elders and had consulted together, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers, And said, Tell people, His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we were sleeping.
The ‘asking price’ in many settings, refers to the minimum amount of money required to entertain an offer of purchase for something. Every item therefore, depending on its value, use, rarity or unique touch, will have a specific asking price and so a set price tag.
The question that emerges from today’s Gospel account is ‘what is your asking price?’ Yes, not just monetary, but what will it take as an offer on the table for you to change sides?
In today’s Gospel, a full assembly of the elders and chief priests were required to decide what would be a ‘sufficient sum’ to give to the guards to cause them to sell a particular narrative. It involved both money and the commitment to protect them from the authorities.
So I ask again- what is your asking price? What will it take for you to compromise on your convictions, your values, your faith and your belief? Perhaps, you have not even thought about it and your default position is ‘you cannot buy me’. Is that really the case or has the right offer simply not come? Ponder on these words.
The only legal tender worthy of meeting your asking price is one deemed equivalent to the blood of Jesus, the ageless and eternal lamb. Until you come to this personal revelation, your asking price can always be met when the offer is right.
