DAY 90

Psalms 18:1,2 I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Every now and then we might wonder why certain men appear to have the level and degree of results they command. We might even deem God’s dealings with them biased. However, such people operate from a realm of deep revelation about the areas in which they commanded those results.
Daniel for example was described as a man in whom there was light, wisdom and understanding from God (5:11). Some tried, but he was untouchable across the reign of four kings in Babylon. David was another of such men, who won battles round about and in today’s Psalm, he reveals to us the dimensions of protection in God. We will explore these in some detail:
My strength – when you have to do battle yourself, what more to draw upon than an infinite pool of resources? While many flail and grow weary, you will stay ever strong because you rely on God as your strength.
My rock – A rock in battle provides two things: is an offensive weapon and a platform for grounding. It’s shattering potential makes it a questionable defensive choice, but not so in offence. In our battle, when enemies rise against us, God moves into an offensive position in our stead. Even when the grounds around us appear to be shifting, on Him as a solid rock we remain firm.
