DAY 81

Jesus touches today on what it meant to follow examples when He explained,

“I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does (John 5:19)

There is a place for words, and a place for action. Thus, there comes a time in a person’s life where the things they see, become the driver for a course of action. At such times, a multitude of words do not even have as much of an impact.

You could look at it this way: ‘there are some lessons in life that cannot be taught through the multitude of your words. These are sermons that can only be gleaned from the quality of the life you live and the examples that can be gleaned from it. Beloved, there actually is that point where you become a living message and your lasting impact is linked to the how you lived not just the things you said.

Words matter, and their impact cannot, and should not be underestimated. But some actions indeed do speak louder than words. Don’t let words be all you have all of the time.
