DAY 27

Mark 4:27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
When any one sows seeds of any kind, outside of making the decision on th choice of seed to ensure it is likely to be viable and has the characteristics they desire in a mature plant, the only other thing they can actually do is a bit of watering. Following this, everything else is out of their hand.
In fact, the Gospel text today does not use any word plays and says explicitly ‘he doesn’t know how’. Yet, even in the absence of this knowing, the man is confident enough to ‘sleep and rise night and day’ trusting the earth to do its thing.
That’s example sounds like specifically applicable to farmers but how about getting into a car? Ordering food? Writing with a pen or even sitting on a chair? These may seem mundane, but the expectations off anyone involved with these equipment or actions is for them to fulfil the tasks for which they are intended, no hitches. That is Trust.
It is very easy for humans to trust wholly the things within the control of other men, even the functions of the earth about which they do not know. However, we cannot place our Trust in the Monarch of the Universe? It does seem that “we can confidently trust in all things invented, but not in the creator of all things? What a real paradox!
