PREPARE TO MEET FACES

DAY 7

I am a tenth of the way through my January reading. It is a book recommended by my brother titled “Quiet- the power of introverts in a world that can’t stop talking”. As I read through the pages today, a statement got me doing a bit of thinking: “Prepare a face to meet the faces that you meet”

That had me for a moment because  in my line of work, forward-planning is non-negotiable. Your awareness and the preparation that goes into all the tasks at hand are critical because  literally, lives are on the line. But as we read “you have to prepare a face to meet the faces you meet”. This I extrapolated not just for the faces of people, but also the faces of life.

There is no nicer way to put this but you can be almost certain that “if you waltz through life and appear before it’s many faces unprepared, you will be munched for lunch. Without preparation, you are setting yourself up for frustration.
