WE DON’T JUST BECOME

CHRISTMAS DAY

In this many Kingdoms, including the kingdom of God, you do not just become. The process of your becoming needs to have the investment of authority, a backing strong enough to legitimise whatever claims you may wield. So we read today:

‘But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name—'(John 1:12)

He gave:

  • Power – the expressive ability to show what the Kingdom has to offer. The platform to show off.
  • Right- all the legal entitlements to enable anyone enjoy their status as children of God
  • Privilege – where we are ushered into the special systems of advantage and immunities that are unavailable to anyone outside the classification as children of God. It belongs to the heirs.

All three elements have to be present in harmony, appropriately understood and effectively executed for us to become children of God. We won’t just become.

I pray this Christmas opens our eyes to the advantages a call into the family of God holds, so that we will embrace the miracles of this season to be propelled into new dimensions and territories.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas.
