CHRISTMAS EVE

When you sell an idea and receive negative feedback, it feels like your balloon has been popped and you feel deflated. In contrast, receiving confirmation and affirmation that an idea is good and bears potential can add wind to your sail. It makes you more enthusiastic about a task, re-energizing you and fuelling your drive forward.
The latter is what happens with King David when his intention to build a house for the Lord reached the ears of the Prophet Nathan. For reasons not known, Nathan affirmed that the Lord was with him to execute what he had purposed to do. In plain language, that was the Green light. Interestingly, God’s position had not been clarified and He spoke to Nathan to make this clear.
Here are two points for our learning from this story:
1. Just because you want to or you are doing something for God does not mean you have His seal of approval. He has to approve it clearly because only then will He invest His integrity in that matter
2. Regardless of the degree of anointing carried, we are men. So, if you do not discern right, you can receive and act upon instruction that sets you up for destruction, even what proceed from the mouth of a genuine servant of God.
