SHINE BRIGHTER

350/365

We read about John who presented as a shining and burning light, but those sent to him ‘chose to rejoice in his light for a season.(John 5:35)’ Note the emphasis on the duration of their mingling with his light ‘for a while’.

Regardless of how dimly a light shines, it has the potential to dispel darkness. However, light comes with luminency – a degree of brightness or intensity. For better and further visibility, brighter light will always be preferred. So simply put, brighter light will always attract more.

It is for this reason Saint Paul uses the words ‘from glory to glory’ to represent the ever increasing dimensions expected in our walk with God. Our lights should continually shine ever brighter because it is to the brightness of our rising that Kings come to. If therefore the intensity of our light does not increase, our audience will likely stay only for ‘a season’.

This is true in business, fashion, spirituality and many other spheres. When men refuse to grow, they lose those who decide to.
