GOD IS STILL AT WORK

Matthew 11:2,3 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,  And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

You know the feeling when you expect something to arrive but it seems to be delaying and so time and time again, you keep looking at the clock or poking your head out the window to see if what is arriving is actually close to showing up. That seemed to be the desperate situation John finds himself in while in prison.
He sends men to seek clarification if indeed Jesus was the one to come or were they to wait for another.

We might wonder where John’s question came from seeing as he was a witness of Jesus’ Baptism and divine approval. In addition, he was the one who heralded Jesus ‘as to come after him’. So question Jesus?

Beloved, God is always at work fulfilling all His promises made to us. Our desperation however causes us to question if indeed He is at work because the way and manner in which He executes tasks and comes through might differ quite significantly from the expectations we have in mind.

For the benefit of His children, God  hides his work in our pain, or in our scars. In this way, they are birthed with minimal interruptions because it takes wisdom to see past unhappy circumstances to perceive the hand of God at work. Like John, our desperate desire for quick manifestations could seemingly fuel our doubts, but rest assured, God is always at work for you. You will know if you look hard enough.
