HE HAS SAID IT

Matthew 21:30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.

As human, we have capacity to remember, but in many instances, we can also forget. We might therefore be in the process of completing a specific task only to be drawn away to another which causes us to forget about and often, never return to the task at hand. That situation, although disrupting, is somewhat natural.

The situation Jesus describes is however different- we have the situation where an individual, a son, said Yes to a task given by his father but did not turn up. Perhaps, there may have been reasons for non attendance which could be reviewed but as things stood, he said I will and did not turn up.

There is something about the human mind that tends to mentally shift responsibility when another individual takes up a task. One becomes less inclined to add that task to their own list because another person has taken it up. Naturally, they worry less and seemingly care less because their expectation is that someone else is going to complete the said task.

That is Trust, and the reason the word of God is trustworthy because when He says, He does. We can be certain of this character of God because He is bound by His word, and those words reveal the extent of His power and His commitment to whoever believes. So beloved, when God says cast your cares upon me for I care affectionately for you, it means exactly that, and you can believe it.

If God has said it, then you can believe it.

    1. one way to attain oneness is to become familiar. Not only with the words, but with God- the speaker of those words. There is no clearer way to recognise the voice of a person than to know about the person. The place of intimacy is thus the start to becoming one with the Word of God.
