Genesis 3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
The version of today’s text that I read on my app begins with a preamble in square brackets before presenting God’s call to Adam. It begins with the words [After Adam had eaten of tree].
While that was to give us a bit more context into the events preceding that call, in itself, those words were a sermon.
There are some things one would have no reason thinking about unless certain conditions have already been met. There are places that will not cross ones mind to tread because some things aren’t in place. There are even people you have no reason having in your circle if certain things aren’t ready.
In short, there is always the need for a key that opens the doors to specific interactions or encounters. Those keys are often decisions. After that decision to eat the fruit, Adam went into hiding probably expecting the consequences of his choice to catch up to Him. Perhaps, he weighed the obedience to God against the prospect of being like God and chose the latter. If only He knew he had already been made in the image and likeness of God.
Every single decision you take, will come with a consequence. That is non-negotiable. So don’t take any decision for granted, however insignificant it may seem.
