Everyone can claim they re top dog in their area until they change locations. There they encounter a stronger foe who pulls them off their high horse. In the world of men, this cycle is never ending because there is always a near certainty that there is another greater than you in some area. Intellectually, socially, financially, physically, or emotionally.

Therefore, it is interesting to see God wander into the realm of such competition in his words through the Prophet Isaiah: “To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.”

Thinking about that question had me thinking God has a good sense of humour because the only response to that question makes any sense is ‘Nothing’. As Nathaniel Bassey sung ‘You are God, from beginning to the end, there’s no place for argument, You are God all by yourself.

Don’t let our positional access to God through Christ persuade you in some strange manner. This conversation is for our exhortation and rejoicing because God, the Monarch of the Universe, sits in an entire class all by Himself. He is the origin and source of all things- nothing is comparable, mush less to think of being equated to Him.
