Matthew 4:18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.
You need not be in a particular place to encounter God – His Omnipresence creates a facility and system that allows Him to engage men anywhere. Therefore, anyone can be blessed by God everywhere because God’s reach touches the vast expanse of creation.
However, there are specific tokens of blessings and encounters that are location dependent. That is, God will require a person to be in a specific place and setting to release such tokens. Those mandates and mantles do not fall on just anybody, unless the principle of right location is satisfied.
The call of Peter, Andrew, James and John is a classic example. All four were found by Jesus on His walk by the Sea of Galilee, and all were at post as fishermen. For these men then, to be made fishers of men therefore, they had to first be fishers of fish plying their trade in the sea of Galilee.
For each of us then, we ought to realise wherein the locations for our assigned mandates lie. Not just in terms of the place, but also the people intended to benefit the most. Paul made himself ‘all things to all men to win some for Christ’, but in the specifics of his assignment, He was an Apostle sent to the Gentiles.
Therefore while ‘we are available for all, we are not sent to all’. Let each then strive to know the location[s] in which our mandates and mantles fall so we can be established.
