HE MOVES ON TIME

Luke 13:16 So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”

Timetables are meant to serve as guides for when things are to be done. The problem with them is the chaos they create when clashes of schedule or timings occur. Thus, while men have established these ‘timetables and timelines’, there is also such a thing as , ‘God’s time’.

As the author of the universe, God exists outside of time, and only stepped into time for our Salvation. The ruler of the synagogue was making provision to establish a timeline which all had to follow. In his mind, that was adherence to the law and healing on the sabbath was prohibited for everyone.

However, Jesus makes it crystal clear: “God does not work with the timelines of man”. He moves in seasons, moments and points in time when His children can receive the most out of His move. His timings are an expression of His sovereign will and while men are workers together with Him, we do not dictate the pace at which God executes His promises.

Simply, God makes all things beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11), and no one knows that timing better than He does.
