Luke12:7 But [even] the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be struck with fear or seized with alarm; you are of greater worth than many [flocks] of sparrows.
If you were to ask many people why they are interested in acquiring assets: buildings, property among others, the reason you will get is ‘for future investments’. Such is the push to leave imprints on the sands of time and make lasting impact that many are willing to go extra miles to attain. The question is why?
Why the desire to establish something with their names on it? The answer ‘so they will not be forgotten’. External memorials are therefore intended to serve as the trigger for the memory of men.
In today’s text, Jesus reminds us that we are not forgotten, not at anyone time. The prophet Isaiah captures this beautifully: “Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me.
Does it look like you are facing the storm alone? Does it look like you are all by yourself on the steep mountain climb or does it seem to be you against the world? The message for you is ‘fear not, because you are of immense value to your father.’ Even in His silence, He is right there with you, through that challenge. He has not forgotten.
