YOU WILL ARRIVE IN TIME

Galatians 2:2 I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

The words above come from a man brimming with confidence, from a man who knew his assignment, executed it and could stand at the very end knowing that he had run his course. However, we have the opportunity to take one step back into the life of Paul to a point where he wasn’t even sure if he was on the right race track.

It sounds strange right? But it’s the truth. He reports a time when he had to seek clarification in case he had run or was running in vain. That would have been a very painful place to stand in knowing that you run so hard only to arrive at the wrong destination.

We get some encouragement, knowing that Paul himself also needed some clarification with regards to his calling. He didn’t just suddenly arrive at ‘I have finished the race’, there was a time when he questioned if he was actually in the right race.

So beloved, don’t fret too much if you’re still figuring things out. Don’t feel overwhelmed if you have not arrived yet. You are still in the process of clarifying what manner of race you’re in. Keep taking it a step at a time and you will arrive also.
