Reference text: Matthew 25:14-30

The man travelling to another land called his servants and delivered unto them ‘his goods’ (vs 14). That is relevant because what they received was not because of their own, it was entrusted to them by another. Plainly, akin to St Paul’s letter to the Corinthians ‘what do you have that you did not receive? (4:7)

Your life? Your talents? Your gift? Your wealth? You may be of the view that you worked hard for some of them, but take a moment to really ponder on this ‘what do you have that you did not receive?’

The second point of interest is this ‘He gave to each according to his ability’ (vs 15)
God is not careless! He loves us to bits, but he is not careless when it comes to giving to his children. To whoever received, their potential had been weighed and what they had capacity for had been given to them. God will not give more you more than your ability can handle.

Perhaps, the only reason you’re overwhelmed is because you have not realised what capacity He has given you in advance.
