HAVE YOU SOWED ANYTHING?

2 Corinthians 9:6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

I tried to read past this verse but just couldn’t. The words that jumped out at me were also those of St Paul ‘Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap (Gal 6:7). Creation responds to the laws that govern it, and the law of sowing and reaping is one of such.

Barring any anomaly, if you sow bountifully, the response should be a bountiful harvest. Such expectation for harvest can only be held if a bountiful sowing had preceded it. We cannot just expect to be ushered into seasons of harvest when we have entirely missed seasons of sowing entirely.

You cannot expect a harvest of love when all you sowed are seeds of discord and disunity; you cannot expect great results when you have sowed no seeds of commitment, dedication and hardwork. You simply cannot expect a harvest of any kind  when you sowed nothing to guarantee such a harvest.

Here is the drill: whatever harvest you expect, there are seeds you have to sow for it. If you have not sowed, you will stand at harvest with empty baskets and have nothing to gather into them.
