Matthew 9:14 Then John’s disciples came and asked him, “How is it that we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?”

Sometimes we get our priorities wrong and find ourselves wading into uncharted territories by making unhealthy comparisons. We begin to query why people in certain situations are doing things differently from us.

The answer to the above lies in the question itself: ‘because they are in a different seasons of life from us’. Specific seasons in life demand particular responses, it would be a wrong call therefore to expect parallel comparisons and like-responses from everybody around because we are each in different seasons with different things expected of us.

Let us be active then about discerning what seasons we find ourselves in, for it takes those who are able to discern their season to respond appropriately.
