Psalms 40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
We can always say that ‘talk is cheap’ as, in many instances, not much is required to deliver a speech that could warrant a standing ovation. However, in the context of turning our words into tangible actions, many find themselves wanting as if they desire to say ‘I didn’t mean that, I only said it on the spur of the moment’.
The words of the Psalmist cannot be put in that category because they sound like carefully weighted words pronounced for a particular reason: ” I delight to do your will”. These words imply the ability to follow on God’s plan for our lives with no questions and to still have a smile on our face as we do so.
Though this may appear easy because His yoke is easy and His burden light, as humans, we have a strong will coupled with a desperation that can sometimes shoot our own interests and desires over and above that of the Lord. It, therefore, becomes a struggle between what we want and what He wants for us.
We should bear in mind that we possess very strong wills of our own such that whenever we decide to, we could actually find ourselves standing against the will of God. But we should also remember that the will of God, which we could be fighting against, will always be in our interest. So my dear, why fight God when you can align with Him?
Remember # stand with God, not against Him.
